KSO Associates Inc. has announced the introduction of their new Flamed Edge Dehydrator Sheet. Technical spokesmen for KSO cited the problem of premature sheet failure coupled with sanitary reasons were the key factors behind the Flamed Edge Treatment for their dehydrator sheets.
Dehydrator Sheets and made from coated glass fabrics. The use of the glass fabric reinforcement is for dimensional stability of the sheet. The sheet due to this reinforcement will not stretch or shrink during the dehydrating process.
The fact that dehydrator sheets are cut from wide sheets or rolls of fabric leaves the edges of the sheets exposed to intrusion of liquids that may be present in the dehydrating process. These raw edges can and often do absorb the moisture from the foods being dehydrated. These liquids often absorb into the glass reinforcement and significantly reduce the tear strength of the dehydrator sheet. In addition to the reduction of the sheets mechanical properties these raw edges can attract mold and fungus to accumulate.
The Flame Treatment of the sheets seals the edges of the sheets and repels the liquids from attacking the glass fabric.
KSO Associates believes that this Flame Treating Process will enhance their sheets performance substantially and will provide the customer with the utmost in sanitation.
KSO Associates began shipping these new Flame Treated Dehydrator Sheets in February 2011. The response has been overwhelming to this new improved product.
